Why These Systems Work for Cherry Tomatoes

#1 Tower Garden HOME - The only system in the dataset with proven indoor tomato capacity

The Tower Garden HOME's 100W output and commercial aeroponic lineage make it the clear choice for indoor cherry tomatoes. Commercial Tower Garden installations consistently produce cherry tomato fruit indoors, and the 60 PSI misting system keeps roots oxygenated through the crop's long 60–90 day fruiting season. Run EC at 2.0–3.0 and maintain the 16–18 hour schedule via the included timer. Provide a trellis or stake - vines can exceed 1.5 metres.

#2 Aerospring Indoor 27-Pod - 75W is below ideal but aeroponic delivery partially compensates

At 75W the Aerospring can support cherry tomato growth and occasional fruit production, but expect smaller fruit clusters and longer time-to-fruit than the Tower Garden. The aeroponic 60 PSI misting is excellent for tomato roots. Supplement with a clip-on 40–50W grow light pointed at the flowering zone to push light delivery closer to the 100W+ threshold needed for consistent fruit set.

#3 Lettuce Grow Farmstand - Not recommended for fruit production; listed for completeness

The Farmstand's 60W is insufficient for reliable cherry tomato fruit set - plants will grow vigorously but fruit sparingly if at all. Without supplemental lighting this system is not recommended for tomatoes. If you own a Farmstand and want to try, use compact determinate dwarf varieties (Tiny Tim, Tumbling Tom) and add a 50W supplemental spot grow light for the flowering zone.

What to Watch

Indoor cherry tomatoes require daily hand pollination - gently shake each flower cluster or brush pollen between open flowers with a soft paintbrush. Without pollination, flowers drop and no fruit forms. Maintain EC at 2.0–3.5 (step up gradually from 2.0 at transplant to 3.0–3.5 at first flower). Blossom end rot indicates calcium deficiency - supplement with calcium-magnesium additive if the base nutrient solution lacks it.
