Data we collect
CounterRoots collects the following data:
- Email addresses when you subscribe to our newsletter. We use this only to send the newsletter and related editorial updates. We do not sell or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Anonymous analytics via privacy-friendly analytics (page views, referrer, device type). No cross-site tracking. No fingerprinting.
- Affiliate click data (anonymised). When you click an affiliate link, we log a hashed record for accounting purposes. We do not log raw IP addresses.
Cookies
CounterRoots uses minimal cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Analytics cookies are anonymised and do not identify you personally.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Email delivery provider (for newsletter)
- Hosting provider (Vercel / CDN)
- Affiliate networks (Amazon Associates, etc.) - these operate under their own tracking and cookie policies when you click through to their platforms
Your rights
You may request deletion of your subscriber data at any time by emailing privacy@counterroots.com or clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.
Children
CounterRoots is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
