  • Normal: Stems of different colours in a mixed variety planting (red, yellow, white, orange) - this is variety expression, not a nutrient problem.
  • Normal: Slight wrinkling or bullate texture on leaf surface - normal chard leaf morphology.
  • Worry: Pale, faded stem colours on plants that were previously vivid - check EC and Mn levels; adjust down to 1.6 mS/cm.
  • Worry: Winding pale trails through leaf flesh - leaf miner larvae feeding inside the leaf; remove affected leaves immediately.
