Soaking seeds for 12 hours before sowing accelerates germination uniformity and results in more synchronised cotyledon opening - the narrow harvest window for peak sotolon makes germination uniformity critically important for flavour consistency.

Keep pH within the stated range; nutrients become unavailable (locked out) when pH drifts even one unit outside the window. Check with a calibrated pH meter - pH pen strips are not accurate enough for hydroponics.


Step-by-step growing

  1. Soak fenugreek seeds 12 hours; drain and rinse before sowing.
  2. Spread in a dense layer on moistened germination mat; cover for 3 days.
  3. Uncover when sprouts reach 3–4 cm; place under lights 12–14 h/day.
  4. Bottom-water daily; fenugreek germinates best with consistent moisture.
  5. Harvest at 8–12 days when cotyledons are fully green; cut above medium.
